Our Journey
B Young Stars was born out of a deep commitment to local young people and their futures.
● 2011 – Started Volunteering
Having grown up in the borough ourselves, we’d seen firsthand how few opportunities existed for teenagers and young adults.
The community needed youth-oriented spaces, and we looked to fill that gap.
● 2016 – Became a Company
We formalised into a small organisation, determined to make a real difference for children and young people in Woolwich. Our focus from day one: education, positive activities, and safe spaces where young people could grow.
● 2022 – Became a Registered Charity
After years of groundwork, we achieved charitable status—a milestone that strengthened our governance and expanded our reach to even more young people who need support.
● Today
We’re a registered charity with a growing footprint across the borough. From our early days of supporting a handful of young people to year-round programmes that touch hundreds of lives, our education support has turned “I don’t get it” into “I’ve got this.” Our sports activities have built teams from individuals. And our mentoring has given young people someone who genuinely listens and believes in them. These moments remind us exactly why we do this work.
Why We Exist
Because young people matter. Because every child deserves a chance to shine.
Today’s youth, tomorrow’s stars.
With the right support and opportunities, as happens, young people step into their power and shape the future we all need.
