B Young Stars is a community-driven charity based in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, putting young people at the heart of everything we do. We provide safe, supportive, and inspiring spaces where children and young people can learn, grow, and thrive.
Our mission is simple: to empower young people to reach their full potential. We believe that with the right support, opportunities, and encouragement, every young person can build confidence, overcome challenges, and shape a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
At B Young Stars, we deliver programmes that help young people thrive, combining Education, Sports, and Mentoring in a dynamic and engaging way. Our sessions are designed to build confidence, resilience, and skills for life, while providing safe and inspiring spaces for growth.
We provide personalised learning in English, Maths, and Science, helping young people overcome challenges, reach their goals, and stretch beyond foundation learning through small-group and one-to-one sessions.
Through team games, challenges, and skill-building, sports sessions promote teamwork, leadership, wellbeing, and healthy lifestyles, giving young people positive outlets for energy and opportunities to grow socially and physically.
Mentoring supports personal development, career planning, and confidence-building, while youth-led projects ensure young people’s voices guide their programmes, fostering leadership and empowering them to shape their own futures.
During school holidays, HAF provides arts, sports, games, and nutritious meals, creating fun, engaging, and supportive spaces for young people while offering families practical support and peace of mind.
Our youth club sessions are friendly, relaxed, and energetic spaces where young people can socialise, play games, participate in activities, and build confidence in a positive, safe environment.
Girls-only sessions focus on wellbeing, self-care, life skills, and open conversations, providing a supportive space for young women to explore challenges, build confidence, and celebrate their strengths.
Supporting Ukrainian refugees and other families, we provide English learning, cultural adaptation, and community integration to help children and parents feel welcomed, safe, and connected in their new environment.
Workshops on mental health, online safety, and life skills, alongside football and basketball sessions for young men, promote connection, confidence, and positive conversations in supportive environments.
B Young Stars was born out of a deep commitment to local young people and their futures.
We initially started volunteering, after seeing a lack of opportunities during our time as teenagers and young adults growing up in the borough. We started exploring the needs of the community and what we could do to help fulfill those needs.
We then created our small organisation, determined to make a difference for children and young people in Woolwich. Even then, our focus was on education, positive activities, and creating safe spaces for growth.
After years of community work, we achieved charitable status. This milestone allowed us to strengthen our governance, grow our services, and reach even more young people who need support.
We are proud to be a trusted charity that continues to expand opportunities for young people. Every success story — every child who gains confidence, every young person who achieves success at school, every future that feels brighter — is a reminder of why we exist.
