Programmes

At B Young Stars, we believe that when young people are supported, inspired and given the
chance to shine, amazing things can happen.

Our work focuses on three simple but powerful areas: Education, Sports and Mentoring.
We bring these areas together to help the future generations in the Royal Borough of
Greenwich build confidence, develop new skills, and discover their potential.

We curate every session, project and conversation to make a difference, fulfill the needs of
those young people and because we know that those small moments of encouragement can
change a young person’s future.

Education, Sports & Mentoring

Our core programmes combine education, sports and mentoring in a dynamic way that keeps young people engaged and motivated.

Each of our sessions lasts two hours – one hour of education and one hour of sports, with mentoring naturally woven throughout.

During the education hour, young people get focused, personalised support in core subjects (English, Maths and Science). Whether they need help in specific subjects or parts of a subject, or want to go beyond foundation learning to expand their knowledge. We are there to meet with them and discuss their goals and how we can achieve them together.

The sports hour brings everyone together to play, move, and connect. From team games to skill-building activities. Sports give young people a way to build self-esteem, resilience, teamwork, leadership and self-belief. Not only are these great skills to develop, it is all done while encouraging them to go out and exercise and build a healthier lifestyle through sports and exercise.

In between the sessions, our team of mentors are always there to listen, encourage and guide young people, helping them manage life’s challenges and celebrate their successes, and also help them deal with the unexpected.

These sessions run throughout the school term, giving children and young people a consistent, safe and positive space to learn and grow.

Education in the Community

Education in the Community
Through partnerships with local primary schools, we bring our mix of education and sport
directly into classrooms, playgrounds, and halls. Our goal is to help children develop a love
of learning and a healthy approach to activity from an early age.

By working with schools, we help build bridges between formal education and the
community, so no young person falls through the gaps.

HAF (Holiday Activities and Food) Programmes
School holidays should be full of fun, friendship, and creativity — not loneliness or worry.
That’s why we run our HAF programmes, which offer sports, arts and crafts, games, and
nutritious meals throughout the holidays.

Children and young people can enjoy:
● Fun physical activities that keep them moving.
● Creative arts and crafts sessions that encourage imagination.
● A welcoming environment where everyone belongs.
● Breakfast and lunch provided every day.

For many families, these programmes are a lifeline — offering safe, engaging, and
supportive spaces during the holidays.

Borough of Sanctuary Project
Through our Borough of Sanctuary project, we proudly support Ukrainian refugees and
other families who are building new lives here in the UK.

We help children and parents learn English, adapt to new cultures, and feel truly welcomed
into their new community. Our sessions focus on friendship, understanding, and
empowerment — making sure every young person feels that they belong.

Youth Club Sessions
Our youth sessions are at the heart of B Young Stars.
These are friendly, relaxed, and full of energy — a space where young people can be
themselves.

From games and sports to group activities and creative challenges, our sessions give young
people the chance to socialise, learn, and have fun in a positive, safe environment.
They’re not just about keeping busy — they’re about building trust, connection, and
confidence.

Girls’ Sessions
We know that young women sometimes need a space of their own — somewhere to talk,
learn, and just breathe.
Our girls-only sessions are designed to do exactly that. They focus on:
● Wellbeing and confidence — learning to value themselves and their voices.
● Self-care and life skills — from personal grooming to emotional resilience.
● Open conversations — about challenges, identity, and the issues that matter most
to them.

These sessions are safe, supportive, and uplifting — helping girls see their strength,
celebrate who they are, and connect with others who understand.

Awareness, Health & Wellbeing
We believe knowledge is power — and awareness saves lives.
Our workshops and discussions help young people understand the real issues that can
affect them, from exploitation and peer pressure to mental health and online safety.

We encourage open conversations, guided by empathy and honesty, and teach young
people how to look after both their mental and physical health.
Our aim is to give every young person the tools and confidence to make positive choices for
themselves and others.

Men’s Health & Fitness
We also support young men’s health and wellbeing through regular football and
basketball sessions.

These sessions aren’t just about sport — they’re about connection. They give young men a
positive outlet, help build friendships, and open up conversations about mental health and
self-care in a supportive, stigma-free environment.

Mentoring & Career Guidance
Behind every confident young person is someone who believed in them — and that’s what
our mentoring programme is all about.
We offer one-to-one and group mentoring that covers:
● Career and education planning
● CV writing and interview skills
● Confidence and goal-setting
● Life guidance and personal development

Our mentors are role models and listeners who understand the challenges young people
face. We walk alongside them — celebrating their achievements and helping them navigate
the next step.

Every young person deserves the chance to shine.
At B Young Stars, we combine education, sport, creativity, and care to help young people
unlock their potential.

We’re more than a youth programme — we’re a community that believes in initiative,
empowerment, and brighter futures for all.
